Keep evolving, but never forget your roots. The pandemic caused a lot of problems, but it also gave Goa, MumMai. A business that started at home kitchen has already won many hearts and now is a famous spot in the heart of Goa’s Capital Panaji.
MumMai means maternal mother or Mai chi Mai in Konkani, it was started by homemaker Emilia Victor, her son Chef Elvis Victor and her nephew Chef Roland Sequeira with the desire to revive and cherish old Goan traditional food.
A friendly grandmother face mascot was created as the brand identity inspired by the origin, Grandmother, Emilia, and Victoria Sisters. The logo needed to stand out, instead of using the everyday font we created customised typography which was a blend of the vintage sheriff type and a modern type.

The theme of the restaurant was designed to make you feel at home, the real belief MumMai was founded on. The packaging was simple yet elegant, “Deu Borem Korum” was embedded on the packaging; it means “Thank You” in Konkani. We also added a sign in the restaurant that says, “Deu Boro Dis Dium” which means “Have a good day” in Konkani.
